About the Solidoodle Workbench 3D Printer
The Solidoodle Workbench is designed for the serious maker, boasting a massive 1728 cubic inch build volume to accommodate small parts or large-scale prototypes. Equipped with dual extruders, the Solidoodle Workbench will work with 1.75 PLA or ABS and provides maximum resolution up to 100 microns. Users can create complex models using water soluble support filament in one extruder, while printing with their primary material in the other.
The heated build platform will help maintain surface adhesion, preventing curling thanks to a warp resistant glass and aluminum design. Featuring built-in automatic calibration, the Solidoodle Workbench will ensure a level print bed before beginning any project. This massive 3D printer supports a wide range of colors and materials, all custom configurable using Solidoodle’s SoliPrint software.
To support such a large build area, the Solidoodle Workbench’s frame is constructed of heavy-duty laser cut aluminum to maintain rigidity and prevent vibration during printing. Injection molded ABS and aluminum components add additional durability, providing smooth operational travel that’s free of backlash or layer inconsistency. In order to meet the needs for large 3D printed projects, Solidoodle has engineered an open frame design capable of either big prototypes or small volume production runs.
Powered by three NEMA 17 stepper motors, the Solidoodle Workbench efficiently translates motion to the extruder. The precision Z-axis rod helps shift the build platform up and down, effortlessly supporting its size for stable prints. The printer connects with a USB cable that accommodates any computer with Windows, OS X, and Linux. Featuring a 12” x 12” x 12” print volume, the Workbench will handle any home, hobby, or office needs. Both extruders are equipped with .4mm nozzles that are robust enough to handle a full range of filaments including Nylon, NinjaFlex, Bendlay, and other specialty materials.
Solidoodle’s “SoliTouch Technology” ensures accurate build plate leveling without the need for manual adjustments. Calibration is easy, helping to speed up workflow for large or high volume print jobs. The Workbench is based off a classic box-bot design and will accommodate filament roll sizes from a wide variety of manufacturers using the integrated spool holder. Customers also have the option to purchase additional coverage. Known as SoliCare, this plan operates beyond the standard warranty; providing 1 year enhanced coverage for defects or malfunctions.
