About the ROBO R1 PLUS 3D Printer
The ROBO R1 Plus 3D printer is designed to provide a seamless experience out of the box. Designed for giving users the best bang for their buck, the ROBO R1 Plus accommodates a wide range of filaments including PLA, ABS, HIPS, Nylon, and more. The unit is equipped with automatic platform leveling for improved workflow, an all metal hot end, a large 10” x 9” x 8” build volume, and can achieve resolutions as high as 100 microns. This new model is integrated with both USB and SD card connectivity options in order to accommodate various file transfer needs. The unit includes its popular open source ROBO 3D software; newly updated with a variety of pre-configured settings that help to streamline and simplify the 3D printing process.
The ROBO R1 Plus 3D printer is built with a rigid, high quality plastic injection molded body for improved stiffness that helps to reduce vibration during printing. Its borosilicate glass build plate can be easily removed for quick access to completed prints. It offers stable and uniform heating distribution that will consistently prevent warping and curling. It’s been engineered for simple part replacement and affordable maintenance. The ROBO R1 Plus 3D printer features an open form factor design that allows it to fit comfortably on either desktops or worktables. Overall, the unit measures 15” x 17” x 18.25” in size.
Using doubled-up LM8uu bearings, the ROBO 3D printer achieves even smoother motion translation on its X, Y, and Z axes when compared to its predecessors. Driven by 5 NEMA high torque stepper motors, the R1 Plus offers both accurate and consistent layer placement. The unit is powered by an Arduino MEGA 2560 board with RAMPS 1.4 shield and it’s installed with the latest Marlin firmware. Equipped with a single .4 mm brass nozzle, the new, all-metal hexagon hot end is designed to accommodate an array of filament options; achieving maximum temperatures up to 290˚C. The ROBO 3D printer offers 100 micron resolution accuracy while retaining its reputation as one of the most affordable 3D printers on the market.
The ROBO R1 Plus can 3D print with both standard and unique materials such as ABS, PLA, Nylon, carbon fiber, wood PLA, flexible, and magnetic filament. Thanks to its high temperature hot end design, it provides a degree of flexibility for users to experiment with different 3rd party filaments. It can accommodate both OEM and custom filament spools using the included mount. All units are pre-packaged with a 300g spool of ROBO blue filament PLA.

The R1 Plus 3D printer is integrated with a 9-point leveling system that streamlines the workflow process for users. It’s completely automated, allowing them to focus on 3D printing without the worry of adjusting or leveling the build plate manually.
