Flashforge Observer 3D Scanner - DISCONTINUED
Following the release of the FlashForge Observer 3D scanner, the company is working on its first Stereolithography 3D printer that uses Digital Light Processing. Known as the DLP Explorer, the unit is capable of producing highly accurate resin-based models for jewelry design and prototyping.
The new FlashForge Observer 3D scanner is a handheld unit capable of full human body scans in under 100 seconds and includes an automated turntable. The unit captures brilliant scan colors thanks to an ultra-high purity CMOS optical lens that maximizes color collection, vibrancy, and precision. With a 600×500 resolution, the Observer is capable of scanning small details such as hair with 200 micron accuracy. Based on the concept of “invisible light scanning”, the unit is perfectly safe for human eyes and can be used for portrait studios. With high precision depth detection, it will achieve color restoration rates up to 95%. Designed for prolonged use, the Flashforge Observer is integrated with a magnesium alloy cooling system, yielding longer operational life compared to most handheld 3D scanners on the market today.
The Observer’s handle is shaped to alleviate fatigue and provide a comfortable approach for scanning angles or hard to reach areas. The unit is best for medium sized objects, achieving a scanning range between 400-3000 mm. Tethered via USB, the Observer can process 3.5 seconds per lap as a human model rotates around the powered turntable. With next generation precision depth detection, it can easily capture difficult details such as chins or eyebrows. The included turntable is rugged and dependable to hold the weight of a human model while rotating in full 360° motion.
The FlashForge Observer is capable of scanning precision objects such as human hair thanks to a 600x500 scanning resolution and 200 micron accuracy. At a rapid 30 frames per second, the Observer is perfect for engineering, museum preservation, and entertainment portraits where time and efficiency is important. It outputs extremely small image files, allowing for easier post-production workflow. The Observer features digital image stabilization that helps protect against background or environmental interference during scans. It can be used with or without the included turntable, providing a scanning angle of 50 ° x 35 °.
In conjunction with the Observer’s release, FlashForge has launched a cloud-based post-editing service; allowing you to upload the first 20 scanned files for editing and processing at no cost. The service is available to Observer customers for up to 180 days after purchase.
The Flashforge Observer handheld scanner is compatible with all major hardware and operating systems, allowing for seamless integration with your studio, laboratory, or office. It includes a one year warranty plan, dedicated support services, and a guaranteed 8 hour response time. Like all FlashForge products, the Observer features a 90 day defective parts replacement program and 14 day return policy.
