Notes from the Workshop:
The Creator is a great entry level step into the world of 3D printing – a true DIY unit that’s a great fit if you’re new to the technology & interested in getting hands-on with your machine. For more advanced users who may have more demanding needs, we recommend checking out Flashforge’s successor to the Creator, the Creator Pro.

About the Flashforge Creator 3D Printer

The Flashforge Creator is a high quality dual extrusion 3D Printer. The Creator uses wood case construction for its frame, and features a build area of 8.85” by 5.7” by 5.9”. For best results, we recommend using the 1.75mm Flashforge ABS or Flashforge PLA. However, the Creator is compatible with most 1.75mm filaments available here at 3D Supply Guys.

The Flashforge Creator’s patented feeding system takes advantage of a 4th generation extruder, possibly the most important component related to a printer’s accuracy and reliability. Ceramic fiber and teflon tape integral to the design keep the designated temperature consistent and stable for the duration of a print. Furthermore, Flashforge has developed a unique wire feeding wheel that prevents filament clogs, coupled with a quality motor that ensures smooth & steady filament flow.

Some assembly is required upon receipt / prior to printing your first item.

Additional Tech Specs

The Flashforge Creator is compatible with Linux, OSX (Mac), and Windows operating systems. It uses the Replicator G software (though many users report success and a preference for using the MakerWare software), and can print from an SD Card or over USB connection. This particular machine draws 220 watts of power, and reaches a maximum recommended temperature of 230 degrees celsius.

The Creator features a degree of print precision ranging from .1mm – .2mm, and prints in thickness ranging from .1mm – .3mm. The print speed ranges from 40mm – 100mm per second, with a flow rate of approximately 24 cubic centimeters per hour. A heated build platform is a standard feature on the Creator, reaching a maximum temperature of 120 degrees Celsius.

The machine’s main board is designed to avoid overheating (a common problem with certain circuit boards), while the system’s heating board is designed for quicker heating speed & temperature stability. The Flashforge Creator’s high quality power supply is widely compatible; adjustable to work with AC input voltages between 100 and 240 volts & 50/60 Hertz.
