About the BeeTheFirst 3D Printer

BeeTheFirst is a compact, easy-to-transport 3D Printer from the BeeVeryCreative team. It’s another handy installment in mid-tier accessible printers, particularly well-suited for those who want a professional solution that’s easily transportable. The eye catching exterior is that of a curved, rounded-rectangle chassis – distinctly different from the more industrial looking rectangular machines common across the market. Overall, it’s an impressive, well-designed piece of machinery that offers decent print jobs for its price range.

Immediate accessibility is the name of the game here, with a design that’s relatively light (21 lbs), compact, portable, and quick to print – it can be setup and printing in under half an hour. After simple assembly of the printer (made easy with an instructive build manual), the included “BEESOFT” (open source) software takes you through a step by step approach to print management. The software is consistently updated by the BeVeryCreative team, and works well with all up to date Operating Systems. As with most intermediate printers, the extruder will require some calibration – but again, this is a simple process covered by the helpful manual (via the included software).

As for print quality, a number of resolution options are available – with tiered selections at 50, 100, 200, or 300 microns. The finest resolution demonstrates excellent quality and delivers silky smooth results, some of the best available in this tier of printer. As a result of BeeTheFirst’s cohesive design, entry level enthusiasts & a variety of professional users can expect and enjoy high levels of resolution without extensive tuning.

Both the extruder and build platform move during printing: the extruder horizontally along the x and y axis, and the bed vertically along the z axis. Built in LED lights remain illuminated during printing, for easily visibility and monitoring of the print as desired. Since BeeTheFirst is a smaller printer, it uses a custom-sized filament spool smaller than standard spools – designed to fit inside the allotted space within the machine’s design. The smaller custom spools hold roughly .73 lbs (.33 kg) of 1.75mm PLA, and are currently available in a variety of 19 different colors.

Additional Tech Specs

BeeTheFirst uses a non-heated print bed, instead using blue tape to improve base layer adhesion. It offers a maximum build volume of 7.68″ x 5.32″ x 4.92″, set inside the printer’s compact exterior frame of 15.75″ x 5.51″ x 15.75″. The printer itself is constructed from a combination of metal, acrylic, and polycarbonate. It supports printing in PLA only – lending to the easy setup, use, and consistent results offered by the machine.

BeeTheFirst includes a 2 year warranty, and holds the following certifications: CE | GS | UL | ISTA (1A).
